As We Were Passing — Swansea Street Photography Photobook
As We Were Passing is a small independent street photography photobook by Swansea-based photographer Jay Kronis, documenting quiet moments of everyday life in Swansea, Wales.
The photographs were made while moving through the city, along the seafront, through streets and cafés, near bus stops, in passing conversations, and in those brief moments where people slip into themselves without noticing the camera. Some images are instinctive and fleeting, others slower and more reflective, but all share the same intention: to notice the ordinary while it is happening.
This first edition contains 30 individual pages (excluding covers) and features approximately 57 photographs, combining both black-and-white and colour images drawn from Jay Kronis’ ongoing street photography practice.
The book sits somewhere between a small independent photobook and a zine-style publication, designed to be accessible, tactile, and easy to return to. Rather than presenting a grand narrative, the photographs work together as fragments of daily life in Swansea, small observations made while simply passing through the city.
