Hi, I’m Jay Kronis, a Swansea based photographer working across street photography, urban observation, portraiture, and wildlife photography. I have Scottish and Greek Cypriot roots and was born in London, shaped by a life that has taken me across England, Wales, Scotland, Australia, Canada, the United States, India, and parts of Europe and North Africa. Each place has influenced how I see light, people, and landscape, and that ongoing sense of discovery sits at the heart of my photographic practice.

My photography focuses on quiet moments found in everyday environments, from candid street scenes and human connection in public spaces to the unpredictable presence of wildlife within natural and urban settings. I’m drawn to photographs that exist between stillness and movement, documenting the poetry of ordinary life through observation, patience, and curiosity.

Working under the name @jaymakesamess, I approach photography as exploration rather than perfection. My work blends documentary street photography with environmental storytelling, creating images that reflect atmosphere, place, and emotion rather than spectacle.

Based in Swansea, South Wales, I create photographic projects, prints, zines, and long-form visual work exploring themes of place, memory, and attention.
