Sidi Mehrez Beach, Djerba Island, Tunisia

Sidi Mehrez Beach is a long, open stretch of sand on the north side of Djerba Island in Tunisia, calm, spacious, and shaped by the early North African sunlight. These photographs sit in that stillness. Camels and horses move along the shoreline in their own slow rhythm, leaving temporary marks in the sand. The sunrise washes everything in soft colour, and even the smallest details, footprints, a weathered shack, feel like part of the story. The motion-blur images of running horses bring a brief pulse of energy into an otherwise quiet landscape. This series is a simple look at a place where movement and calm met in a beautiful way.
